Robert Ludlum is very well known author of thrilling and spy based books . He has written almost 27 thriller books and the copies of his books have been published in more than thirty languages and about forty countries . The number of copies of his books in print is estimated between 290 million and 500 million. He had been a theatrical actor and producer . Later he became a writer that is always write about something thrilling .

The Bourne Identity is one of his thriller based books but there is something special about this book . This is very interesting book based on a real life story of the writer himself. After writing his first book the writer forgot the 12 hours of his life that was later told to him by the doctors. So , the incident urged the Robert Ludlum to write a book relating to his story named “The Bourne Identity” .

The Bourne Identity is a fiction , thriller and suspense story based book . The story is based on the main character “Jason Bourne” who has forgot his memory and he tries to find his identity and to find those people from CIA and Carlos that want him dead . Carlos because he thinks that Bourne is after him and CIA because they think that Bourne has gone rogue . Bourne is constantly followed by the two parties whom he even do not know . The writer has used this point to make the story attractive and interesting for the reader so that the reader has to pay full attention to understand the story and the characters . The story captures the readers mind at every moment . The story is full of suspense and full of mysterious characters to judge that makes the story interesting .

Robert writes , a man floating in the sea is found by the group of fisher men . When he wakes up he came to know that he has lost his memory due to severe head injury. They send him to a doctor. The doctor tries to prompt the man into remembering . The doctor judges him and estimates surely that his physical appearance has been changed several times . Doctor told him that he found a Zurich bank account number embedded into his body . Doctor manages a boat to send the man suffering from Amnesia to Marseilles . In a cafe , he hits a man who tries to kill him but he escapes . Then , he hardly manages to reach the Zurich bank and there he received a box containing his belongings and a large amount of money . There he came to know that his name is Jason Bourne and he works for a company named Tread stone Seventy-one. Outside the bank he is attacked by three men but he escapes and took refuge in nearby American embassy. Then he offers a girl to help him to go to Paris for 20,000 $ . The girl agreed but the girl don’t believe him so when the car stops the girl escapes but she is caught by enemies of Jason who wanted to kill him . Jason rescued the girl from them and he is got shot so the girl took him to a hotel where she come to know that Jason does not know anything about himself . Then they both try to find his identity. The girl began to fall in love with the Bourne . Then he went to a hotel Regina where a lady comes forward and calls him Mr. Kane so he came to know that his name is Kane.But then girl told him that Kane has dead two days before.The writer creates another story at every scene that is linked with the previous. Here another complexion starts . Jason see in the news paper that he has been declared as an assassin. Because , he was sent to assassin a politician but he fails in his mission rather someone else killed that politician so Bourne was accused of that murder . But Bourne finds that person which is responsible of all this Carlos . He told him that his real name is David and remind him his identity . The story ends when the girl says David!

It can be seen in the book that writer is not writing in a formal way , he does not introduces the characters in the beginning but characters are appearing when their role stars and then the writer gives a little info linked with the story only.

Flashes of memory came to his mind as a street , a hotel , remembering a place but not so vivid .In all story Bourne is tangled between CIA and Carlos that wanted him to dead . When I first took this book to read I only read about 3-4 pages hardly then I put it up but later when I again begin to read I found it completely awesome . I was absorbed in the thoughts about the Bourne .

But sorry to say this book is not so perfect as it has some flaws e.g. the story is so complex , there are lots of characters to remember about that confused the reader but the story overall is very interesting . This is the good thing that I liked in this book that one is getting so much problems in understanding the story but he does not want to stop reading . The reader begin to think as he himself is Bourne . The flashes of memory and a condition of highly stressed Jason puts the story in charm . In the whole story Jason tries to find his reality , he knows about places but not so clearly . People know him but he does not know about the people . He only knows about those people who turned him into Jason . The book is good in respect to that there is no mention of sex and other such things . In the whole story reader has to focus to understand the complexity of the story and the characters so the reader cannot be bored .

If we compare this book with the other books of Robert Ludlum then we come to know that almost all his books are based on the thrilling stories but his last two books namely “The Bourne Identity” and “The Bourne Ultimatum” are best of all time due to the complexity and completely focused on the story . The action is very little which makes the reader a little bore but however the story has its charm. After the death of Robert Ludlum , Lustbader wrote the sequel of the Bourne series named The Bourne Supremacy , The Bourne legacy , The Bourne Betrayal , The Bourne Sanction , The Bourne Deception , The Bourne Objective and The Bourne imperative but in these books action is increased and story is no more there , characters are increasing that are making the story complex to understand which is not good .Other books of the Ludlum are based on heroic person that struggles against the bad people , the other books are all thriller based but “The Bourne identity” is his last book that I love .

The author has used informal style throughout the book but he used the formal style too where it was necessary . The author has used simple and familiar words rather than the complex words so almost everybody can easily understand which increases the value of book . In the book the hero remains in unfamiliar problem and uses his mind to get out of the problem so in this way author forces the readers that we should use our brain in problems and we should not be confused .

The story is related to every politician . As every politician is involved in killing so many people and in bribery and black money like in the story Carlos but they put the allegations on their secretary or assistant when they are about to be caught . I recommend this book highly to the fans of spy , fiction and thriller that they must read this book . The main thing that’s why I am referring this book is because the story is mysterious and full of mysterious characters , one is never certain that who these people are and for whom side are they ? This thing develop interest in reader to continue reading . The plot is very complex , situation are difficult and vary from place to place from United States to Vietnam and then Europe . Along with the story the love story of the boy and girl is also complex . That begins when Bourne kidnaps is future wife Marie and the whole story there is doubt about the believability of Marie’s love for Bourne . After reading this book about for two days I was confused about myself too e.g. I forgot the way to I am going and why I am going but when Iremember I laughed at myself . Now I have decided to read the remaining books of the sequel .
